What Makes Sugar Grove Unique?

  • The Sugar Grove Corn Boil - takes place the last full weekend in July with festivities that carry on well into the night with crafters, business booths, a carnival, entertainment, fireworks and the primary attraction: delicious cooked corn. In addition, concerts, blood drives, charity events and other activities are planned throughout the year.
  • The Sugar Grove Nature Center - is over 1,000 acres of high quality natural area, most of which are protected as registered Illinois Land & Water Reserves or dedicated Illinois Nature Preserves.  Funks Grove is the largest remaining intact prairie grove in the state of Illinois and portions have been designated a National Natural Landmark by the U.S. Department of Interior.  Over five miles of well maintained trails take visitors through prairie, forest, and riverine habitats.  A trail from the nature center leads to the Funks Grove Church, Cemetery, and Chapel of the Templed Trees
  • Sugar Grove Park District - maintains over 20 park sites and offers a diverse range of year-round programming for all ages.
