Elburn is a village in Kane County, Illinois, United States. The population was 4,751 as of 2006. It is located at the intersection of Illinois Route 38 and Route 47. It is situated 46 miles west of the Chicago Loop. Although maintaining a small sense of community is the foundation on which Elburn was built, the Village is increasingly being recognized as a rapidly growing suburb focused on smart growth principles.  Despite rapid growth pressures, Elburn is working diligently to maintain its vision of being ??Better, not just Bigger?? through careful planning and management, while at the same time, serving its residents and neighbors as an actively thriving community in the far western suburbs.

What Makes Elburn Unique?

  • Elburn Days - annual Village festival features a variety of events for every member of the family. Children and adults alike will enjoy the food, games and entertainment, as well as watching judging of animals for local 4-H clubs. One of the highlights of the festival is the annual Elburn Days Parade, featuring organizations from throughout the region.
  • The Fishermen's Inn - offer luncheon bridal showers for parties of 70 or more and banquets are available for parties of 35 and up. Their Main Deck can accommodate wedding receptions for as many as 250 guests. Built on the foundations of an old barn, it's located among beautiful rolling farmland, quintessentially Illinoisan landscape. On the grounds are artesian-fed ponds stocked with trout, which also feature on their menu.
